Equal Justice Center Named Recipient of $25,000 Cartis Group Grant
Cartis Group has announced Equal Justice Center as this year's recipient of a $25,000 creative services grant. The Equal Justice Center (EJC) is an employment justice and civil rights organization, which uses combined strategies of community organizing, leadership development and legal advocacy to empower low-income individuals, families and communities. EJC projects are designed to achieve systematic reform that improve labor condition of low-wage working people, increase their ability to secure fair and safe treatment in their work, expand immigrant employment rights and reform the Texas criminal justice system.
Cartis Group will strategically design EJC's logo, identity system (letterhead, envelope and business card) and Web site.
"This is the first year Cartis Group has offered a grant for creative services," said Cartis Group Grant Coordinator Claudia Chávez. "We were amazed by the proposals we received and our panelists were challenged to choose a winner. EJC is a perfect fit for Cartis Group, and we look forward to working with their organization."

Cartis Group will also conduct two-hour consultations with each of the four runners-up: Angelheart Children's Shelter, Project Transitions, Admission Control and Eastside Community Connection.
